Getting Creative at Northwest Square
We love getting to capture a couple’s precious moments which is why it was so special that our couple for our styled shoot at Northwest Square was celebrating their 10th anniversary! A styled shoot is simply an opportunity for wedding creatives to gather and practice our craft whether it’s photography, hair/makeup or decor.
Northwest Square is a new venue in downtown DeLand and so it was the perfect spot to come together and make this day happen. It’s helpful for new venues to have photos of what a wedding would look like there!
We had a solid team of vendors who helped bring the whole day together. Olivia and Caleb provided photography and videography services on behalf of our Polkbros team. In our social media world, we felt it was important to have a video that was formatted for online use that highlighted some of the unique aspects of the venue.
Our bride and groom in the courtyard at Northwest Square. This beautiful space is perfect for your ceremony or cocktail hour!
Northwest Square is unlike other wedding venues in that it is a multi-use venue. The owners renovated what was once a large church building into what is now a wedding space that is also home to a tap room, deli, coffee shop and the cutest gift boutique ever. Across the street from the venue is an AirBnB owned by the same family that is available to rent for the wedding weekend. We worked to highlight how these spaces can make your wedding weekend experience memorable. We love the idea of a bridal party creating a weekend of memories all in one space.
Amanda with Awe Glammed Up was on site to provide our hair and makeup services. It’s so important to have a professional stylist who can create a look that will hold up in Florida’s heat and ever-changing weather!
Our bride was stunning in a gown loaned to us by Deb at Lewis Home and Bridal. This luxury bridal shop offers tailoring, draping and steaming services. Deb knows how to make everyone look and feel good on their special day. Our groom was immaculately outfitted in a tailored suit by Leonardo on 5th.
Atmospheres Floral and Decor provided stunning florals to set the tone of the shoot. It’s always a great idea to choose florals that work for the ceremony that can be moved into the reception space.
We loved the table settings provided by Echo Event Rentals! Everything was done elegantly, from the champagne chalices to the gold plated silverware. The table cards were soft velvet adding a nice touch of texture to the tablescape.
On a personal note, this was a special day for our bride and groom. Though they’ve been married for nearly 10 years and have three kids to show for it, they weren’t able to have the traditional wedding day experience. This was a special opportunity to dress up and walk through the day as a typical bride and groom. And even after 10 years, his reaction at seeing her in her gown was priceless. It’s encouraging to see how love that is grounded in God truly lasts forever.
We decided to do a first look for Lauren and Oliver and it did not disappoint. May you find a husband who still gets emotional seeing you like this even after so many years together.
The Chapel Tap (below) is a fun spot for your bridal party to grab a drink during the wedding weekend and make some new memories!
Oliver and Gray is an adorable boutique on the property that is home to so many cute items! Shop for hair accessories, home goods, plants or even a cute card for someone special.
